Back to Austin

A few months after flying to Austin for a Maryland-Texas football game (go Terps), I headed back for SXSW. At some point, I’ll share some highlights from the conference, but for now, I wanted to share some photos of this awesome city. While I thoroughly enjoyed my trip with Andrew back in the fall, I have to say, the city is a lot more pleasant when it’s not over 100 degrees out! 🙂 I even had to wear a jacket for some of the days this time.

Walking around downtown at night, after catching a comedy show.
The Capital One House at Antone’s. They had talks during the day and music shows at night.
I heard a rumor that Elon Musk would be crashing a Westworld panel, so I sat through three talks leading up to this one just in case. I’m glad I did — not only did I get to see my hero speak, I also bumped into someone from Capital One and ended up hanging out with her for much of the conference!
Haim performed at the Bumble house. I only knew a few of their songs going into the concert, but count me as one of their fans now!
I attended the world premiere of 6 Balloons, now out on Netflix. One of my favorite actresses, Abbi Jacobson (of Broad City) starred in the movie alongside Dave Franco.
Had to play tourist at some point!

I saw this on a post card and really wanted to check it out for myself, but unfortunately, it was hidden behind a fence. Oh well.
Waiting for the bats to come out.
A grainy photo of Nick Offerman (you know him as Ron Swanson) on the red carpet for his feel-good film, Hearts Beat Loud. It was an adorable, uplifting movie — one I needed after seeing some dark (but excellent) movies like 6 Balloons and A Vigilante. I’m also just a huge fan of Nick, especially after reading his book, Paddle Your Own Canoe.
Jo’s Coffee. I love you too, ATX.
A bicycle creature spotted outside my hotel one night.
Walking along the river.
Dropbox live mural that changed every day.
I loved all the street art and murals all over downtown!
